As we've built out our Solarwinds environment the Solarwinds Job Engine v2 and Job Engine v2:Worker Processes components of the Orion Server Template for SAM have started to exceed the default thresholds. Looking at the description it appears that it is performance related, but where is the performance issue. Is this a performance issue on the web/polling server itself or on the database server and what resource would I increase to bring this back down to acceptable levels.
For the Job Engine v2: Worker Processes, that has recently started exceeding the default threshold (10), reaching 11 and 12 regularly. The description states that if this value reaches 100 that it might be a problem with a job hanging. I'm obviously not at 100 but I wonder if these "jobs" are not running as fast as they should be due to performance issues elsewhere.
For the Job Engine v2 service, the item exceeding it's threshold is CPU which is hovering under 2% CPU(which is the default threshold) and occasionally going over it, but the server itself has plenty of room for additional usage so I'm not maxed out on the server or anything. That's why I'm wondering if this is actually an issue elsewhere.
Can anyone shed some light on these components and where I might look to for my possible "performance issue"
