If you are most interested in event details and want "as generic as possible" alert covering components from various applications, then statistic data (match count) is most certain indicator.
Component status may vary depending on this setting (it can be either Up, Down, Warn or Critical in case of match):

Component name can be changed and will probably vary across templates/applications so again, in order to create generic alert component type can serve better.
But it all depends on your configuration and needs...
